Shri S.K. Agarwal, AGM/South Central Railway Inaugurates 29th All India Railway Body Building Championship for Men 2014-15

Shri S.K. Agarwal, Addl. General Manager, South Central Railway, declared open the 29th All India Railway Body Building Championship for Men 2014-15 here at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad today i.e. 4th February, 2015. South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) is organising the championships after a span of 26 years under the auspices of Railway Sports Promotion Board, New Delhi.
Addressing the competitors and spectators Shri S.K. Agarwal, AGM/SCR said that the sport of body building is a spectator’s delight and motivates all to remain fit. This also needs rigorous hard work and disciplined food habits, he added. Shri S.K. Agarwal called upon the competitors to exhibit sportsmanship and wished that the best team and individual shall win.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, President SCRSA and Sr. Deputy General Manager, SCR said that SCR body building team has been gaining strength and several of its players also representing the Indian Railways at national level. SCRSA is o­n the forefront in promotion of sports by setting up of best infrastructure and hosting all India Railway level events. Soon, all India Women’s Cricket Tournament is also going to be held here, said Shri Gajanan Mallya. Shri K.V. Siva Prasad, General Secretary, SCRSA and Chief Engineer (Construction)/SCR and Shri Vikram Gupta, Secretary/Body Building/SCRSA and Chief Engineer/SCR were also present.
A total of 100 body builders of national and international level representing 12 Railway Zones are competing in ten weight categories are participating in this championship. This championship also facilitates the Indian Railway Body Building panel to select a team to represent Indian Railways at the forthcoming Senior National Body Building Championship to be held at Gandhidham, Gujarat State during the last week of February, 2015.
