EXTENSION OF RUN OF 09807/09808 KOTA-HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN-KOTA DAILY EXPRESS

In order to cater to the extra rush of passengers, the Railway has decided to extend the run of Special TrainNos. 09807/09808 Kota-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Kota Daily as per following programme:-

The 09807 Kota-Hazrat Nizamuddin Daily Special train will depart from Kota from 26.11.2015 to 31.12.2015 (36 Trips) at 09.10 p.m. to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 04.25 a.m. the next day.  In the return direction, the 09808Hazrat Nizamuddin-Kota Daily Special train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin from 27.11.2015 to 01.01.2016 (36 Trips) at 05.15 a.m. to reach Kota. At 01.15 p.m. the same day.

Consisting of o­ne AC 2 tier-cum-AC 3 tier, o­ne AC 3 tier, five Sleeper Class, three General Class and two Disabled Friendly Second class cum Luggage Van coaches, the 09807/09808Kota-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Kota Daily Special train will stop at Indargarh,Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Shri Mahabirji , Hindaun City, Bhayana,  Bharatpur, Mathura and Faridabad stations enroute in both the directions.

NORTHERN RAILWAY PLANS FOR CANCELLATION/PARTIAL CANCELLATION OF PASSENGER TRAINS DURING ENSUING FOGGY WEATHER

The foggy conditions especially during winter season pose a great challenge to the railways especially in the northern region of the country in terms of operations and safety. In view of safety of trains and passengers speed of trains is restricted to minimum. To prevent inconveniences to the passengers during foggy season, railways is compelled to make a plan every year to cancel/partially cancel/divert those trains which are affected the most during fog.
This year Northern Railway has planned to cancel 10 pairs & partially cancel 2 pairs of the following Passenger trains during the period (as per dates shown against each train). 
(The position will be reviewed based o­n the local weather conditions.)

6 Special Trains on the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Divas on 6.12.2015

Central Railway has decided to run 6 special trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus/Dadar to Sevagram – Ajni - Nagpur to clear the extra rush of passengers o­n account of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's Mahaparinirvan Divas o­n 6.12.2015.

The details of special trains are as under-

1.Special train No. 01069 will leave Mumbai CST at 16.05 hrs o­n 6.12.2015 and will reach Ajni at 08.10 hrs next day.
2.Special train No. 01071 will leave Mumbai CST at 18.40 hrs o­n 6.12.2015 and will reach Sewagram  at 10.30 hrs next day.
3.Special train No.01073 will leave Dadar at 00.40 hrs o­n 7.12.2015 and will reach Nagpur at 18.00 hrs same day.
4.Special train No.01075 will leave Mumbai CST at 12.35 hrs o­n 7.12.2015 and will reach Nagpur at 03.30 hrs next day.
5.Special train No.01083 will leave Mumbai CST at 18.40 hrs o­n 8.12.2015 and will reach Nagpur at 12.10 hrs next day.
6.Special train No.01085 will leave Dadar at 00.40 hrs o­n 8.12.2015 and will reach Nagpur at 18.00 hrs same day.

Halts for All these Special Trains : Dadar, Kalyan, Kasara, Igatpuri, Nasik Road, Manmad, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Jalamb, Akola, Murtajapur, Badnera, Dhamangaon, Pulgaon, Wardha, Sewagram and Ajni.

All these unreserved specials will run with 12 General second class.

Chhath Special Train from Patna to Krishnarajapuram

In order to clear extra rush of Passengers during Puja festival 2015, o­ne superfast Chhath Special train will be run o­n 25thNovember, 2015, from Patna to Krishnarajapuram as detailed below:-
Train No. 02577 Patna – Krishnarajapuram Special Train will depart Patna at 20:20 hrs o­n 25th November, 2015 and arrive Krishnarajapuram at 20:30 hrs o­n 27th November, 2015.
Enroute, this special train will stop at Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Mughal Sarai, Mirzapur, Cheoki, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Pipariya, Itarsi, Ghoradongri, Betul, Pandhurna, Nagpur, Sevagram, Chandrapur, Balharshah, Sirpur Kagaznagar, Ramagundam, Warangal, Vijayawada, o­ngole, Gudur, Chennai Central, Arakkonam, Katpadi and Jolarpettai stations.
These special trains will have 22 coaches viz., three AC II Tier, three AC III Tier, eleven Sleeper Class, three General Second class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

RPF Rescues Woman from Committing Suicide

A woman aged 35 years who attempted suicide at Guntakal Railway Station o­n 23.11.2015 at about 18:00 hrs was saved by the Railway Protection Force, Guntakal. The Inspector, Protection Force of RPF/ Guntakal spotted the woman standing in the middle of the track with the intention of committing suicide, where Train No. 56503 Bangalore Cantonment- Vijayawada Passenger Train was about to pass. Immediately the Inspector along with other staff pulled her out from the death trap and brought her to Guntakal Railway Post, where enquiries were conducted. She was found to be in possession of a General ticket from Prasannayana Palli to Guntakal. The RPF informed her relatives who came and received her under acknowledgement.

48 Sabari Special Trains to Stop at Moula Ali Railway Station

South Central Railway will provide stoppage for 48 Sabarimalai special trains at Moula Ali Railway Station for the benefit of Ayyappa devotees as detailed below:- 
1)Train No.07109/07110 Hyderabad-Kollam-Hyderabad Sabarimalai Special (via. Kazipet, Vijayawada, Gudur, Renigunta, Salem) (38 services):
Train No. 07109 Hyderabad-Kollam special train will depart Hyderabad at 15:55 hrs o­n 11th, 15th, 16th, 19th& 23rd, 24th & 31st December 2015, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th,  7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th January 2016 arrive/depart Secunderabad at 16:20/16:30 hrs, Moula Ali at 16:42/16:44 hrs and arrive Kollam at 23:30 hrs o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07110 Kollam-Hyderabad special train will depart Kollam at 02:15 hrs o­n 13th, 17th, 18th, 21st, 25th & 26th December 2015 and 2nd, , 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th& 17th January 2016 arrive/depart Moula Ali at 09:15/09:17 hrs, Secunderabad at 09:40/09:50 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 10:30 hrs o­n the second day.
2)Train No.07133/07134 Hyderabad-Kollam-Hyderabad Sabarimalai Special Trains (via. Nadikudi, Guntur, Gudur, Renigunta) (10 services):
Train No. 07133 Hyderabad-Kollam special train will depart Hyderabad at 15:30 hrs o­n 12th, 20th & 30th December 2015 and 2nd & 16thJanuary 2016 2016 arrive/depart Secunderabad at 15:55/16:05 hrs, Moula Ali at 16:15/16:17 hrs and arrive Kollam at 23:30 hrs o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07134 Kollam-Hyderabad special train will depart Kollam at 02:15 hrs o­n 9th, 16th & 23rdDecember 2015 and 4th & 18th January 2016 arrive/depart Moula Ali at 09:15/09:16 hrs, Secunderabad at 09:40/09:50 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 10:30 hrs o­n the next day.

Special Trains between Sainagar Shirdi and Kacheguda - Bookings for 07268 open on 12.11.2015

Railways have decided to run special trains between Sainagar Shirdi and Kacheguda to clear the extra rush of passengers. The details are as under: 

07268  special will leave Sainagar Shirdi at 1910 hrs o­n 11, 18 & 25.11.2015 and arrive Kacheguda at 0935 hrs next day.

07267 special will leave Kacheguda at 2245 hrs o­n 17 & 24.11.2015 and arrive Sainagar Shirdi at 1215 hrs next day. 

Halts: Puntamba, Kopargaon, Manmad, Nagarsol, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Purna, Hazur Sahib Nanded, Mudkhed, Nizamabad, Kamareddi and Malkajgiri.

Introduction of New train Between LTT-Gorakhpur - Bookings open from 22.11.2015

Railways will introduce a new weekly express train between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Gorakhpur via Gonda-Balrampur-Barhni. The inaugural special 05087 will leave Goralkhpur at 1830 hrs o­n 22.11.2015 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 0510 hrs o­n 24.11.2015.

Regular service of 11079 Weekly Express will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus o­n every Thursday from 26.11.2015 at 1550 hrs and arrive Gorakhpur at 0200 hrs o­n third day i.e. Saturday.
Regular service of 11080 Weekly Express will leave Gorakhpur o­n every Saturday from 28.11.2015 at 0500 hrs and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 1620 hrs next day i.e. Sunday.

Railways will run AC Superfast special train between Howrah and Pune o­n 28.11.2015 and between Pune and Howrah o­n 30.11.2015 to clear the extra rush of passengers.
The details are as under:
02222 AC Superfast special will leave Howrah o­n 28.11.2015 at 1830 hrs and arrive Pune at 0245 hrs o­n third day.
02221 AC Superfast special will leave Pune o­n 30.11.2015 at 1030 hrs and arrive Howrah at 1815 hrs next day.

Ijtema Special Trains between Wadi and Bhopal - Bookings already open

IJETMA  SPECIAL TRAINS  BETWEEN  WADI AND BHOPAL

Railways have decided to run two special trains between Wadi and Bhopal to clear the extra rush of passengers o­n account of “Ijtema”. The details are as under:

01439   Wadi - Bhopal special train will leave Wadi o­n 26.11.2015 at 0930 hrs and will arrive Bhopal at 0730 hrs next day.

01440   Bhopal - Wadi special train will leave Bhopal o­n 30.11.2015 at 2250 hrs and will arrive Wadi at 2100 hrs next day.
HALTS: Gulbarga, Solapur, Daund, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa and Itarsi.
     
COMPOSITION: 7 Sleeper class, o­ne AC-2 Tier, Two AC-3 Tier.

New Refund Rules from 12th November 2015

New Refund Rules W.e.f. 12.Nov.2015. 


The major changes in the existing rules and the amendments in refund rules are as under:-

Unused (unreserved) tickets o­n which no reservation has been made:

 If a ticket o­n which no reservation of a seat or berth has been made is presented to the station master for cancellation refund of fare shall be made   o­n every such ticket after deducting the clerkage.
 (i) within three hours after the actual departure of the train for which the ticket is issued or
(ii) for any ticket valid for the whole day, within three hours after the actual departure of the last train of the day for the destination station
If a ticket o­n which no reservation of a seat or berth has been made is presented for cancellation, refund of fare shall be made o­n every such ticket after deducting the clerkage. 
 (i)The ticket shall be presented for cancellation within three hours of issue of ticket.
 (ii) In case of tickets issued in advance the ticket is presented upto 2400 hours of the day preceding the day of journey.  
       Unused tickets o­n which reservation has been made:
(i)                  if the ticket is presented for cancellation more than forty eight hours in advance of the scheduled departure of the train, a minimum per passenger cancellation charge shall be deducted at the flat rate of rupees two hundred and forty for air-conditioned first class/executive class, rupees two hundred for air-conditioned-II tier/first class, rupees one hundred eighty for air-conditioned III-tier/ 3 economy/air-conditioned chair car, rupees one hundred twenty for sleeper class and rupees sixty for second class.

(ii)                if the ticket is presented for cancellation between forty eight hours and upto twelve hours before the scheduled departure of the train, cancellation charge shall be twenty five per cent of the fare subject to a minimum of the cancellation charge.  
(iii)              if the ticket is presented for cancellation within twelve hours before the scheduled departure of the train and upto four hours before the scheduled departure of the train irrespective of distance the cancellation charge shall be fifty per cent of the fare subject to a minimum of the cancellation charge.

(iv)              No refund shall be granted o­n the reserved ticket if it is surrendered for cancellation before four hours of the actual departure of the train 
                     
(v)               In case, on a party ticket or a family ticket issued for travel of more than o­ne person, some persons have confirmed reservation and others are on waiting list, full refund of fare, less clerkage, shall be admissible for confirmed passengers also provided that the entire ticket is surrendered for cancellation upto 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train.

Unused waitlisted or RAC tickets:

If a Waitlisted/RAC ticket is presented for cancellation, refund of fare shall be admissible after deducting the clerkage. 
 (i) The ticket is presented for cancellation upto three hours after the actual departure of the train irrespective of the distance.
 (ii) The passenger may get the tickets cancelled from any PRS counters or the designated current counters.
 (iii) No refund of fare shall be granted o­n RAC ticket /Waitlisted ticket after three hours of the schedule  departure of the train.

(iv) In case no current counters are available at journey originating station for night trains leaving between 21.00 hours and 06.00 hours(actual departure , refund shall be admissible at the station within first two hours after the opening of reservation office.
(v) In remote and hill areas as identified by the zonal Railways with the prior approval of the General Managers and print in their Time Tables for train leaving between 1900 hours and 0600 hours (actual departure) refund shall be admissible at the station within first two hours after the opening of reservation/booking office, in case there is no reservation counters/booking office/ current counters. Available in that area.
 If a Waitlisted/RAC ticket is presented for cancellation, refund of fare shall be admissible after deducting the clerkage. 

 (i) The ticket is presented for cancellation upto Thirty Minutes before the actual departure of the train irrespective of the distance.
 (ii) The passenger may get the tickets cancelled from any PRS counters or the designated current counters.

 (iii) No refund of fare shall be granted o­n RAC ticket /Waitlisted ticket after thirty minutes before the schedule  departure of the train.

(iv) In case no current counters are available at journey originating station for night trains leaving between 21.00 hours and 06.00 hours(actual departure , refund shall be admissible at the station within first two hours after the opening of reservation office.

(v) In remote and hill areas as identified by the zonal Railways with the prior approval of the General Managers and print in their Time Tables for train leaving between 1900 hours and 0600 hours (actual departure) refund shall be admissible at the station within first two hours after the opening of reservation/booking office, in case there is no reservation counters/booking office/ current counters. Available in that area.

Cancellation of e- tickets:

 The e- ticket may be booked and cancelled through internet and the refund of fare shall be credited to the customer’s account after deducting the charges applicable.

In case of a confirmed e-ticket, refund of fare shall be granted in accordance with rule for unused tickets o­n which reservation has been made. In case of RAC e-ticket, refund of fare shall be granted in accordance with rule for unused waitlisted and RAC tickets.

In case of  the waitlisted e-ticket o­n which status of all the passengers is o­n waiting list even after preparation of reservation charts, names of all such passengers booked o­n that  Passenger Name Record (PNR) shall  be dropped from the reservation chart and  refund of fare shall be credited to the customer’s account  after deducting the clerkage.

In case o­n a party e-ticket or a family e-ticket issued for travel of more than o­ne person, some persons have confirmed reservation and others are o­n the list of RAC and waiting list, then in case of passengers o­n RAC or waitlisted not travelling, a certificate has to be obtained from the ticket checking staff to that effect and refund of fare shall be processed online through TDR, indicating the details of the certificate issued by ticket checking staff. 
          
The online TDR shall be filed upto seventy two hours of actual arrival of the train at passenger’s destination and the original certificate issued by the ticket checking staff is to be sent through post to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The fare shall be refunded by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to the customer’s account after due verification.
In case of e-tickets (confirmed or RAC), if the reservation charts have been   prepared, online TDR is required to be filed for obtaining refund. 

No refund of fare shall be admissible o­n e- ticket having confirmed reservation in case the request for refund is filed online upto four hours before the actual departure of the train.

 No refund of fare shall be admissible on RAC e-tickets in case the request for refund is filed online upto thirty minutes of the actual departure of the train.

  Refund o­n Tatkal  tickets:

No refund of fare shall be admissible on confirmed Tatkal ticket.

 In case of Tatkal ticket o­n waitlist, refund of fare shall be granted in accordance with rule for unused waitlisted or RAC tickets.
 In case o­n a party Tatkal ticket or a family Tatkal ticket issued for travel for more than o­ne person, some persons have confirmed reservation and others are o­n waiting list, full refund of fare, less clerkage, shall be admissible for confirmed passengers also provided that the entire Tatkal ticket is surrendered for cancellation upto Thirty Minutes  before the scheduled departure of the train.

Postponement or preponement of journey o­n a reserved, RAC or waitlisted ticket:

            The postponement or preponement of journey o­n confirmed or RAC or waitlisted ticket shall be allowed in the same class and for the same destination instead of any longer distance or any higher class by the same train or by any other train for any subsequent days,  subject to condition that the ticket is surrendered during the working hours of reservation office and at least forty eight hours before the scheduled departure of the train in which originally booked.

Non-commencement or missing of journey due to late running of trains:

·         No cancellation charge or clerkage shall be levied and full fare shall be refunded to all passengers holding reserved, RAC and waitlisted tickets, if the journey is not undertaken due to late running of the train by more than three hours of the scheduled departure of the train from the station commencing the journey subject to condition that the ticket is surrendered upto the actual departure of the train instead of existing 3/6/12 hours for distance 200 kms/200-500 kms/500 Kms and above after the actual departure of the train.

·         in case of e-tickets, the TDR  is filed o­nline before the actual departure of  the train for availing full refund.

·         In case the ticket is cancelled or surrendered or if the request for refund of fare is filed  o­nline after the actual departure of the train, no refund of fare shall be admissible.

Lost, misplaced, torn or mutilated tickets:

             If the reservation status of a lost, misplaced, torn or mutilated ticket, at the time of receipt of the application for issuance of a duplicate ticket for the purpose of undertaking journey, is confirmed or RAC and that the duplicate ticket is sought before preparation of reservation chart of the concerned train, the station master shall issue a duplicate ticket in lieu of the original ticket o­n payment of  rupees fifty  per passenger in case of second and sleeper class and  rupees o­ne hundred   per passenger for other classes instead of existing clerkage charge

Application for refund of Passenger Reservation System (PRS) tickets in other circumstances:      

          For refund of fare under circumstances other than those specified in these rules or under circumstances like ‘bandh’ or agitations or floods,  etc., the passengers could not reach the reservation counter or station or current counters for cancellation of tickets, in those cases, a TDR   shall be issued to the passenger and the passenger may apply for refund of fare within ten days instead existing 90 days from the day of commencement of journey to the Chief Commercial Manager (Refunds) of the railway administration under whose jurisdiction the TDR issuing station comes, enclosing the original TDR. 

The TDR shall be issued o­nly upto three days instead of existing 30 days after the scheduled departure of the train.
