Thousands of
Candidates arrived at Secunderabad/Hyderabad from different parts of the
Country, to attend an examination conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board,
Secunderabad for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians today 20th
July, 2014 at various examination centres in the Twin-Cities.
As many of
these candidates, after completion of their exam were travelling back, there
was a huge rush to board express trains towards various destinations. In order
to handle this extra rush of RRB traffic smoothly and to ensure hassle free
travel to bonafide rail users, South Central Railway has taken several measures
and senior officers led by Sri Ravi Prasad Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial
Manager, Secunderabad Division camped at Secunderabad Station to coordinate and
monitor the situation.
The steps
taken to ensure smooth movement of traffic include running of Special trains
from Secunderabad to Santragachi which left at 3.30 pm today with exclusive
General Second Class accommodation and a Special train from Secunderabad to
Patna which is scheduled to depart at 10.00 pm today with Sleeper Class
and General Second Class accommodation. In addition, one extra
General Second class coach was attached by Visakha Express, Padmavathi Express
and Dakshin Express too.
Security was
strengthened at Secunderabad station by posting additional Railway Protection
Force and Ticket Checking personnel at all entrances of Secunderabad Railway
Station and in trains. A fortress check was organised with 70 TTEs to ensure
that only authorized passengers enter the Station premises and travel by
trains. Besides operating all Booking Counters at Secunderabad, ATVM
Facilitators were also deployed to issue General Tickets. Inspectors were
entrusted with the task to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to rail users
and to handle crowd management. Frequent announcements were made at the
station, requesting the unreserved passengers not to board the reserved
compartments and announcements were also made about running of special trains
from Secunderabad to Patna.
All these
special measures helped in minimising the inconvenience to the bonafide
passengers and also clearing the huge rush of passengers from stations without
any unusual occurrence.
