On Khurda Road–Palasa section, the wind speed is
ranging between 50-100KMPH with medium and heavy rain fall.
The
reported extents of damage of East Coast Railway are as under:

.No coaching trains are moving in
the affected sections between Bhadrak-Khurda Road-Palasa-Vizianagaram sections.
Cases of causality if any have not been reported so far.

.The wind speed
is gradually reducing. Engineering, Traction Distribution (TRD) and Signaling
& Telecommunication (S&T) staff have been kept in readiness at
nominated stations to go in to the section by Tower Wagon/Diesel Light Engine.
3
.Up Line Home signal of Ichhapuram
Station is uprooted. Foot
Over Bridge
(FOB) & Platform shelter at Brahmapur, Ganjam, Somepeta, Balugaon,
Mancheswar and Khurda Road
are either blown off or damaged.
Effects Reported so far:
1
1.Khurda Road-Palasa Over Head
Equipment (OHE) is not holding. Attempt to charge the section has failed as
reported by TRD/ECoR.
2. The Over Head
Equipment (OHE) between Bhadrak-Barang and Talcher-Rajathagarh sections are
holding. However, Cuttack-Paradeep & Barang-Khurda Road sections are not
holding and Tower Wagons from Bhadrak & Jajpur-Keonjhar Road have already
moved out to the sections.
3.Details of
sectional damages can be assessed only after the relief team reports back.
4.As reported by
M/s Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., High Tension (HT) towers have
been uprooted at many locations over Khurda
Road – Brahmapur section. The details of which are
awaited.
5.A large No. of
trees are uprooted and falling on track/OHE. Available information is as
