spreading awareness on cleanliness. For this purpose, SCR has prepared a
comprehensive Cleanliness Action Plan for each Division / Unit covering
stations, trains, track, workshops and colonies etc., duly involving thousands
of railwaymen/women in this campaign. The services of non-railway organisations
like NGOs, NSS, NCC, school/college students, Scouts and Guides etc., will also
be utilised for this special programme.
The Maha

and colonies etc., on 2ndOctober involving officers and staff at
every level. The Divisional Railway Managers will coordinate the activities
related to this campaign within the Division including deployment of staff and
allocation of material resources. In this regard, senior officers in the Zonal

organise and lead the massive special cleanliness campaign / Maha Shramdaan.
The
nominated officer in-charge of the station/colony will conduct an inspection of
the assigned area well in advance and assess the requirements for taking up the
cleanliness campaign at the location and necessary inputs will be arranged
accordingly. As part of this mega cleanliness campaign, the railway track
located between stations in city areas will be cleared of debris, garbage and
plastic waste.
Apart
from the efforts of railways, cooperation from Public is also required to
maintain railway premises clean. Hence, Public awareness campaigns will be
organised through print and electronic media advising the rail users to desist
from littering or spoiling railway premises. Posters, Electronic display boards
and banners etc., will be displayed at all conspicuous places to this effect.
This
special drive also includes action against persons making premises dirty under
relevant rules prohibiting littering in railway premises. Such persons are
