RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE OF NORTHERN RAILWAY NABS TOUT AT JHAJJAR STATION



As part of their drive to check the activity of unauthorized ticketing agencies and touts during the peak summer travel season, Northern Railway has intensified its vigilance checks at various reservation centres. During a raid at the premises of Jhajjar station o­n 14.06.2014, the Crime Investigation Branch of Railway Protection Force of Northern Railway apprehended a tout Vikas Rathi;  4 PRS tickets valued Rs.12260/- were recovered from him. A case u/s 143 Indian Railways Act is registered against him at RPF Post, Rohtak.

Northern Railway reiterates its appeal to general public to refrain from purchase of rail tickets from unauthorised agencies and touts. Unauthorized buying and selling of reserved tickets is an offence under Section 143 of the Railways Act. Passengers who buy tickets from unauthorized travel agents may lose both their tickets and the reserved accommodation, if such tickets are confiscated during raids.
