Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, met Shri N. Chandrababu
Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh today i.e., 21stJune,
2014 at his office, Lake View Guest House, Hyderabad.
During the
course of the meeting, the General Manager made a detailed power point
presentation highlighting the ongoing prioritised Railway projects in Andhra
Pradesh and the plans for further expansion of Railway network and services in
the State. He sought the assistance of the Andhra Pradesh Govt. towards the
development of Rail infrastructure in the State, to which Shri Chandrababu
Naidu responded positively.
The General
Manager also briefed on the performance of the Zone, the potential of
passenger and freight traffic etc on SCR. He assured the Hon’ble Chief
Minister that momentum of SCR’s performance will continue aimed towards meeting
the rail transportation requirements of passengers and also Industry in this
region.
Shri
Chandrababu Naidu advised the officials to speed up the progress of the
sanctioned projects and also to plan new rail lines connecting more areas in
AP, hitherto unconnected. The Hon’ble CM emphasized on effectively connecting
the existing and newly coming up ports on the coast of AP to the hinterland by
rail links to boost up the Industrial activity.
Shri Ravela Kishore Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare &
Empowerment, Tribal Welfare & Empowerment, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh; Shri M
Murali Mohan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajahmundry; Shri K. Ramamohan Rao,
Special Representative in Delhi, Govt. of AP; Shri IYR Krishna Rao, Chief
Secretary, Govt. of AP were also present. The General Manager was accompanied
by Shri S.K.Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer, Construction and Shri
J.N.Jha, Chief Operations Manager, South Central Railway.
