SCR’s Advisory to Job Seekers in Railways

South Central Railway has been undertaking the recruitment of staff from time to time to fill up vacancies as per need. In this connection, it is reiterated that Railway administration takes up the process of recruitment of staff in a systematic manner through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) and Zonal Railway Recruitment Cells (RRC) only.  The Employment notifications are issued well in advance in several newspapers including Employment News.  Selection of candidates will be done through a competitive written examination conducted in a foolproof manner under strict supervision of officials. Candidates, who qualify in the written examination, are intimated through individual call letters fixing the date for verification of records or medical test or viva voce, as the case may be.  There is no scope for any tout / middleman / agent to influence the Railway Recruitment Board or Zonal Railway Recruitment Cell.

SCR makes an earnest appeal to job seekers to note that except through the due process as mentioned above, there is no other way of recruiting staff in Railways.
They should be aware of job racketeers / touts who may try to make false promises of providing jobs in Railways through devious means. Continuous efforts are being made by the Vigilance and Security organisation of SCR to keep a tab on such activities through constant watch / raids against suspicious persons. Stringent action will be taken against any Railway staff if found trying to influence / deceive the unemployed by making false promises of securing a job in the Railways through unfair and unethical means.

Also, instances have come to notice that some un-scrupulous elements are issuing fake appointment letters to dupe the gullible unemployed youth / candidates aspiring jobs in Railways. It is advised that job aspirants / candidates shall be careful about such fake letters issued wrongly in the name of Railways by dubious elements. In case of any doubt, the aspirants shall contact the Railways to check on the authenticity of the appointment letters etc.

It may also be noted that jobs offered by / undertaken for private contractors or agencies for works outsourced by Railways such as cleanliness, booking at some stations etc., do not constitute a job with Railways. Persons working for / on behalf of private contractors / outsourced agencies assigned with works on Railways, are only on the rolls of contractors and not of Railways.

Therefore, if job seekers in Railways are approached by any person / middleman / agent including any Railway employee, promising jobs in Railways; and by any unscrupulous elements issuing fake appointment letters, they may bring the same to the notice of the Railway administration at the following contact numbers for immediate action.

Chief Vigilance Officer, South Central Railway, 3rd Floor, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.  Ph: 040-27830516, 27785057 or 9701370053. For any queries related to recruitment through Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), candidates may contact on phone numbers 040-27788824, 27830039, 27822852 or 09701370626.
