EXTENSION OF CANCELLATION OF SPECIAL TRAINS


The cancellation of under mentioned Special trains which was notified up 31.5.2021 is extended till 15.6.2021 due to poor patronage.

 

1.Train No. 06321 / 06322 Nagercoil – Coimbatore – Nagercoil Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

 

2.Train No. 02679 / 02680 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

 

3.Train No. 06795 / 06796 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

 

4.Train No. 06323 / 06324 Coimbatore – Mangalore Central – Coimbatore Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

 

5.Train No.06075 / 06076 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

 

6.Train No. 02613 / 02614 Chennai Egmore – Madurai – Chennai Egmore Special trains are cancelled up to 15.6.2021.

CHANGES IN PATTERN OF SUBURBAN TRAIN SERVICES



Due to Line Block to facilitate engineering works between MMC – Avadi in Chennai – Thiruvallur section, changes will be made in the pattern of suburban train services on 28.10.2017 and 29.10.2017 as explained below.

A.The following suburban train services, scheduled to leave from MMC, will be cancelled o­n 28.10.2017 and 29.10.2017
1.MMC – Thiruvallur EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 09.30, 09.45, 11.30, 12.10 & 13.20 hrs. will be cancelled.
2.MMC – Tiruttani EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 10.00 & 11.45 hrs. will be cancelled.
3.MMC – Avadi EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 09.00, 10.05, 10.15, 10.45 & 12.35 hrs. will be cancelled.
4.MMC – Kadambattur EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 10.30 & 12.00 hrs. will be cancelled.
5.MMC – Arakkonam EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 11.05, 12.50 & 13.45 hrs. will be cancelled.
6.MMC – Pattabiram E Depot EMU locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 12.25, 12.20 & 13.00 hrs. will be cancelled.

B.The following suburban train services, scheduled to leave from Chennai Beach, will be cancelled o­n 28.10.2017 and 29.10.2017
1.Chennai Beach – Thiruvallur EMU locals, scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 09.50 & 13.05 hrs. will be cancelled.
2.Chennai Beach – Pattabiram E Depot EMU local, scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 10.05 hrs. will be cancelled.
3.Chennai Beach – Avadi EMU local, scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 11.05 hrs. will be cancelled.
4.Chennai Beach – Tiruttani EMU local, scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 12.10 hrs. will be cancelled.

C.The following suburban train services, scheduled to leave from suburban stations to MMC, will be cancelled o­n 28.10.2017 and 29.10.2017
1.Thiruvallur – MMC EMU locals, scheduled to leave Thiruvallur at 09.10, 10.05, 10.55, 11.30, 12.00, 13.05 & 14.40 hrs. will be cancelled.
2.Avadi – MMC EMU locals, scheduled to leave Avadi at 09.15, 09.55 & 11.05 hrs. will be cancelled.
3.Arakkonam – MMC EMU locals, scheduled to leave Arakkonam at 08.55 & 12.00 hrs. will be cancelled.
4.Pattabiram E Depot – MMC EMU locals, scheduled to leave Pattabiram E Depot at 10.30, 11.25 & 12.50 hrs. will be cancelled.
5.Tiruttani – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Tiruttani at 09.40 hrs. will be cancelled.
6.Kadambattur – MMC EMU local, scheduled to leave Kadambattur at 13.35 hrs. will be cancelled.

 D.The following suburban train services, scheduled to leave from suburban stations to Chennai Beach, will be cancelled o­n 28.10.2017 and 29.10.2017
1.Tiruttani – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Tiruttani at 08.50 hrs. will be cancelled.
2.Thiruvallur – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Thiruvallur at 11.00 hrs. will be cancelled.
3.Avadi – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Avadi at 12.10 hrs. will be cancelled.
4.Kadambattur – Chennai Beach EMU local, scheduled to leave Kadambattur at 12.05 hrs. will be cancelled.


In lieu of the cancelled suburban train services, passenger special trains will be run o­n 28.10.2017 & 29.10.2017 as explained below

The passenger special trains from MMC / Chennai Beach towards suburban stations will not stop at Vyasarpadi Jiva, Korattur, Pattaravakkam, Thirumullaivoil, Annanur, Avadi, Hindu College and Pattabiram.

The passenger special trains from suburban stations towards MMC / Chennai Beach will not stop at Pattabiram, Hindu College, Annanur, Thirumullaivoil, Ambattur, Pattaravakkam, Korattur, Perambur Loco Works, Perambur Carriage Works and Vyasarpadi Jiva.

A.Passenger special EMUs from MMC o­n 28.10.2017 & 29.10.2017

1.Passenger special EMUs from MMC to Thiruvallur will leave MMC at 09.30, 09.45 & 11.50 hrs.
2.Passenger special EMU from MMC to Tiruttani will leave MMC at 10.05 hrs.
3.Passenger special EMU from MMC to Pattabiram will leave MMC at 10.15 hrs.
4.Passenger special EMU from MMC to Thiruninravur will leave MMC at 10.30 hrs.
5.Passenger special EMUs from MMC to Pattabiram E Depot will leave MMC at 11.15, 12.20 & 13.00 hrs.
6.Passenger special EMU from MMC to Avadi will leave MMC at 12.35 hrs.
7.Passenger special EMUs from MMC to Arakkonam will leave MMC at 12.50 & 13.40 hrs.

B.Passenger special EMUs from Chennai Beach o­n 28.10.2017 & 29.10.2017
1.Passenger special EMUs from Chennai Beach to Thiruvallur will leave Chennai Beach at 09.50 & 13.05 hrs.

Special fare special train from Chennai Central to Dibrugarh

Train No.05905 Chennai Central – Dibrugarh special fare special train will leave Chennai Central at 20.30 hrs. o­n 07th& 14th January, 2017 (Saturdays) and reach Dibrugarh at 18.00 hrs. o­n Tuesdays.

Composition:AC First Class-cum-AC 2-tier – 1, AC 2-tier – 1, AC 3-tier – 3, Sleeper Class – 11, General Second Class – 4 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.

SPECIAL TRAIN

The following special train will be run to clear the extra rush of traffic.

 
Special fare special train from Chennai Central to Kollam
Train No.06073 Chennai Central - Kollamspecial fare special train will leave Chennai Central at 22.30 hrs. o­n 29th December, 2016 and reach Kollam at 14.10 hrs. the next day.
Composition:Sleeper Class – 12, General Second Class – 6 & Luggage-cum-brake van – 2 coaches.
Stoppages:Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Kayankulam.

INSTALLATION OF POS MACHINES AT 70 SUBURBAN STATIONS IN CHENNAI DIVISION



With effect from 1st January 2017, Ministry of Railways has provided a discount of 0.5% for season tickets being purchased through POS machines over suburban sections. This will be beneficial to the passengers who purchase quarterly,half yearly and annual season tickets. POS machines have been provided at all the 70 suburban stations for the convenience of Public
As directed by the Ministry of Railways, Southern Railway has installed additional PoS (Point of Sales) machines in 22 of its Passenger Reservation Centres  spread over Tamil Nadu and Kerala.  These 22 centres which have the highest number of PRS transactions, now offer the facility of cashless payment while purchasing reservation tickets. 
28 machines were already in use at 22 locations. Now, additionally, 40 more machines have been added to these 22 locations. Apart from these 22 locations, All 70 suburban stations in Chennai Suburban system have been provided with POS machines. This makes it 138 machines in 92 stations in Southern Railway.
Within a week of installation of PoS machines, the cashless transactions have increased  from 0.5% to 4.6%. And in the suburban sector, 6.2% of the seasons ticket passengers have switched to cashless transactions. The Railway plans to provide more PoS machines at all reservation offices in a phased manner.
