Hundreds of picketers belonging to AMRI KARBI
ASSOCIATION blocked railway tracks at Tetelia station near Chandrapur under the
Lumding Division of Northeast Frontier Railway from 04.00 hours to 08.40 hours
today. The agitators were demanding autonomous council and ST status, which is
in no way related to the Railways. As a result of the blockade, normal train
running was disrupted affecting hundreds of hapless passengers.
The trains that
were detained because of the blockade were :
1) 15604 Down Intercity Express detained for 220
minutes at Kamrup Khetri.
2) 12423 Down Rajdhani Express detained for 185
minutes at Jagiroad
3) 15960 Down Kamrup Express detained for 140
minutes at Chaparmukh
4) 15910 Up Avadh Assam Express detained for 175
minutes at Digaru
5) 15817 Up Rajya Rani Express detained for 154
minutes at Panbari
6) 12067 Up Jan Shatabdi Express controlled for 130
minutes at Guwahati
7) 55601 Up Kmakhya - Lumding Passenger controlled
for 130 minutes at Kamakhya
8) 55604 Down Moirabari – Guwahati Passenger
detained for 130 minutes at Chaparmukh.
